  Common on the Pacific coast of the America's from California south to Peru and also the Galapagos Islands, the Pustulated Cowrie is a beautiful small shell (generally no larger than about an inch in length) characterized by small orange bumps or "pustules" emanating from the dorsum (top) side with definitive labial teeth or ridges along the base or underside.
  The live snail is found on reefs and feeds on stoney corals at night and hides during the day.
